Innovators' Corner

This special session provided an opportunity to discuss the potential of some striking transport innovations. It showcased some recent innovations with presentations from inventors and researchers with an opportunity to put questions to them. Panellists included Juwan Yoo, a 17-year-old Korean who developed the Seoul Bus iPhone application, the 2010 Winner of the International Transport Forum's Young Researcher of the Year Award, and finalists in the International Transport Forum /International Association for Public Transport (UITP) Award for Outstanding Innovative Public Transport.

The Session also gave opportunity to participants in the audience to share their ideas for new concepts for the transport system.

  • Juwan YOO, who developed the iPhone “Seoul Bus” application, which crawls public transport web sites to provide real-time updates of bus arrival times for all bus stops in Seoul and its surrounding provinces.
